The city of Santander hosted the XXVII Meeting of the Andrology Group of the Asociación Española de Urología (AEU), one of the most important scientific events in the field of male sexual and reproductive health in Spain. The meeting brought together specialists from across the country to discuss the latest advances in prosthetic surgery, male infertility, urethral pathology, and hormonal health, establishing the event as a reference for training and clinical updates in andrology.
In this edition, the andrologists of Andrología Barcelona had a particularly prominent participation, strengthening the center’s role as a national reference in the specialty. The inauguration featured the intervention of Dr. Josep Torremadé, director of Andrología Barcelona and current coordinator of the AEU Andrology Group, highlighting the importance of innovation, continuous training, and collaborative work for the advancement of andrology in Spain.
Throughout the meeting, the center’s specialists played a leading role in roundtables, presentations, and practical workshops. Dr. Lluís Peri served as moderator in a session focused on the management of urinary fistulas, contributing his expertise in complex urethral pathology. Dr. Maurizio D’Anna spoke on prosthetic surgery and led a basic microsurgical technique workshop, sharing practical skills with other professionals. Dr. Xavier Bonet moderated a session on male infertility and directed a hands-on ultrasound workshop for urologists and andrologists, while Dr. Juan Manuel Corral addressed the management of testosterone deficiency in fertile men, emphasizing the importance of balancing hormonal health with reproductive potential.
