The professionals of Andrología Barcelona had a prominent participation in the 89th National Urology Congress, held from 10 to 12 June 2026 at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos in Madrid, under the slogan “The future of urology starts here.”
This event, one of the most important in Spanish urology, brought together specialists from across the country to share knowledge, scientific advances and clinical experience in different areas of the specialty, including andrology, reconstructive surgery, functional urology, digital health and healthcare innovation.
Outstanding participation by Andrología Barcelona
In this edition, we would especially like to highlight the participation of Dr. Josep Torremadé, director of Andrología Barcelona, who was part of the direction of Plenary Session VI: “Andrology and functional, female and urodynamic urology: technique, decisions and outcomes in real-life practice.”
This plenary session addressed key aspects of current clinical practice, focusing on decision-making, surgical techniques and real-life outcomes in the management of urological and andrological conditions.
Dr. Lluís Peri Cusí, urologist at Andrología Barcelona, also played an important role as moderator of the session SP-05: “Reconstructive Surgery I,” held in the Bogotá Poster Room. His participation reflects the importance of reconstructive surgery within a comprehensive approach to urological and andrological health.
For his part, Dr. Maurizio D’Anna, urologist at Andrología Barcelona, took part in the session “Approaches to penile prosthesis implantation: which one should I choose and why?”, focused on a highly relevant topic in surgical andrology. His participation highlights the team’s experience in the advanced treatment of erectile dysfunction through personalised surgical solutions.
Likewise, Dr. Xavier Bonet Puntí, medical director of Andrología Mallorca and a professional linked to the Andrology team, participated as moderator in the session SP-05: “Reconstructive Surgery I,” together with Dr. Lluís Peri Cusí and other specialists.
A key congress for the future of urology
The 2026 National Urology Congress returned to Madrid after 26 years, consolidating itself as a space for scientific exchange, professional updating and collaboration among specialists.
In addition to the prominent participation of professionals linked to Andrología Barcelona, other TAUS Clinics specialists also took part in the scientific programme, including Dr. Rodrigo España, director of Andrología Málaga, and Dr. Leandro Reina Alcaina, director of Andrología Murcia, in different sessions on BPH, digital health and bladder cancer.
