Dr. Josep Torremadé, Medical Director of Andrología Barcelona, participated in the UroLap 2026 International Urology Course, held in Madrid from October 14 to 16, delivering a presentation on the treatment of Peyronie’s disease using penile implants.
On Friday, October 16, Dr. Josep Torremadé, Medical Director of Andrología Barcelona, took part as a speaker in UroLap 2026, a scientific meeting dedicated to sharing knowledge and advances in urology.
His presentation, entitled “Penile Prostheses in Peyronie’s Disease,” was part of a session moderated by Dr. Esaú Fernández Pascual.
The role of penile implants in Peyronie’s disease
Peyronie’s disease is a condition characterized by the development of fibrous scar tissue in the penis, which can cause curvature, deformity and, in some cases, erectile dysfunction, affecting patients’ quality of life and sexual health.
In cases where Peyronie’s disease is associated with erectile dysfunction that does not respond adequately to other treatments, penile prosthesis implantation may offer a surgical option to restore erectile function and address the associated deformity.
Dr. Torremadé’s participation in this scientific meeting reflects Andrología Barcelona’s commitment to continuous medical education and specialized care in men’s sexual health.
