Dr. Josep Torremadé and Dr. Lluís Peri take part in a new edition of the Uro-Prosthetic and Functional Surgery Course for Young Urologists

On May 8th, a new edition of the Uro-Prosthetic and Functional Surgery Course for young urologists took place, now well established as a key reference in surgical training within the field of urology.

Dr. Josep Torremadé played a leading role as course director, and also moderated the pre-recorded surgery session on surgical options in trans surgery, featuring a neophallus construction procedure performed by Dr. Wai Gin Lee — a technique increasingly relevant in gender-affirming surgery.

Dr. Lluís Peri Cusí also took part in the practical component of the course, performing a live surgery in Operating Room 3: Advance XP transobturator sling implantation, a key surgical technique for the treatment of urinary incontinence.

The day included six live surgeries, theoretical lectures, and valuable discussion between specialists from across the country. The course was very well received, with attendees praising the quality of the teaching staff, the practical approach, and the opportunity for direct interaction with experts.

We would like to thank all the participants for their trust, and acknowledge the support of Boston Scientific and ASPARGO, without whom this kind of training initiative would not be possible.

Ongoing education and a strong commitment to surgical excellence remain central to advancing the treatment of functional urological conditions.
