Last Wednesday, June 17, Madrid hosted the “Current Concepts in Peyronie’s Disease” course, a scientific meeting focused on the latest knowledge, diagnosis and treatment strategies for Peyronie’s disease.
The event brought together national and international specialists in urology, andrology and sexual medicine to share clinical advances, review the latest scientific evidence and discuss the innovations shaping the future of care for this condition.
A course focused on Peyronie’s disease
Peyronie’s disease can have a significant impact on male sexual health and patients’ quality of life. For this reason, continuous medical education, the exchange of experience between specialists and the incorporation of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools are essential to provide increasingly personalised and effective care.
Throughout the course, key topics were addressed, including translational research, the role of ultrasound in diagnosis, intralesional therapies, new surgical advances and minimally invasive treatment options for Peyronie’s disease.
Participation of Dr. Josep Torremadé
Representing Andrology Barcelona and TAUS Clinics, Dr. Josep Torremadé Barreda participated as part of the faculty and delivered the lecture:
“Penile prosthesis in Peyronie’s disease: when and how”
During his presentation, Dr. Torremadé discussed the role of penile prosthesis in patients with Peyronie’s disease, analysing when this therapeutic option is indicated and which key aspects should be considered to optimise functional outcomes and patient satisfaction.
